Creative STEAM Kids partnered with Greenbelt Recreation to offer makerspace classes for some of their sessions during their Creative Kids Camp for the 2022-2024 summer! We also offer scientific illustration classes through the Greenbelt Recreation Arts programming in the spring and fall.
Creative STEAM Kids also offers after-school classes! We have partnered with Polite Piggy’s in DC for over four years. Here are some pictures of students year olds exploring art. We have learned about 3D art and created paper sculptures after reading “One Red Dot” by David Carter. We used different paper folding techniques to “camouflage” a red dot into our sculptures. We also discussed printmaking and engraved different kinds of lines into foam to create interesting abstract art prints. We also pulled prints from gelli plates. Other images show students making art inspired by the geometric shapes, lines, and colors of stained glass windows, a balancing toy from a lesson on how we use our balance every day as well as a lesson about the light spectrum and the color order of rainbows! These are just a few examples of the many educational and engaging after-school lessons we offer.
