The journey of Creative STEAM Kids, LLC began in 2015 with a simple idea and a powerful moment. Alongside a few colleagues, I started hosting Family STEAM Nights at our school. What unfolded was incredible- children and families learning side by side, experimenting, creating, and celebrating discovery together. The energy in the room was contagious. Witnessing that joy and curiosity firsthand made it clear to me that STEAM education- especially when infused with a focus on art, was where my heart belonged.
Blending creativity with science, technology, engineering, and math had always been a passion of mine, and in 2018 that passion found a new path forward. A supportive parent reached out and asked if I would consider hosting a summer camp for her child and other students. I said yes without hesitation. With encouragement from families and the guidance of my spouse, Jimmy, my vision took shape, and Creative STEAM Kids, LLC officially launched.
That summer, we hosted our first weeklong camp in Washington, DC, welcoming nearly 20 eager campers. The excitement, creativity, and confidence the children gained during that week was unforgettable- and it fueled my desire to grow even more.
Since then, Creative STEAM Kids has expanded its reach and impact through after-school programs, STEAM camps, workshops, tutoring, community events, and virtual classes. We’ve built strong partnerships, expanded into Maryland, and continue to share hands-on, art-infused STEAM experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity across the DC, Maryland- and beyond.
